Day One:Luke One

God Is Going To Do It

In Chapter One of Luke we see themes like doubt & fear. These are two feelings that i'm sure we all can relate to. An angel came to Zechariah and told him that his wife would bear him a son. (Luke 1:13) Zechariah became fearful, but the angel reassured him, "Don't be afraid--". There was also doubt in his heart because he and his wife was of old age and he wasn't sure how it would be possible for her to bear a child. (Luke 1:18)

The angel took away his ability to speak until this prophecy came to past. By the time his service was complete and he was able to return home his wife was pregnant. Six months later that same angel went to Mary and gave her the same message! (Luke 1:26) Mary too became fearful, but she submitted to this prophecy anyhow. (Luke 1:38). She didn't understand how a virgin could give birth to a baby, but the angel told her about Elizabeth. ( Elizabeth was proof)

Soon after, Mary went to visit Elizabeth to see for herself and upon her arrival the sound of her voice made the baby in Elizabeth's belly leap! (Luke 1:41) & Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost. They spent the next 3 months together, and then there was John. Zechariah's ability to speak came back and he prophsied everything the angel told his over his son John. John grew to become strong in spirit.

The very thing that God spoke to Elizabeth came to past, even though they had so much fear and doubt God still saw them fit for this blessing. That same blessing was duplicated and given to Mary. God isn't running out of blessings anytime soon! Know that he has one with your name on it, and it might not look like everyone else's but it will be everything that you need. Trust that God is going to do it.

I am so happy you decided to join us! @Fanessia
I love how you said “this life is not my own”. It’s so important that we understand that!! Thank you for the reminder 🧡

I learned that in the mist of fear and doubt we can be still and trust that God will fulfill his promises. It may not be exactly what we want and yielding is important because this life of mine if not my own, it’s for his works. God did not give me the fear and doubt that dwells upon me so I should move and trust him. I’m late, but I’m here for the Luke segment! I love it

Wow @Javi, I love that take away! “He doesn’t change his mind, even when we do”. So good 🙏🏾

I learned that there is no reason to fear and doubt the word that God has spoken over our life. it is proof after proof that God sees us fit and he doesn’t change his mind, even when we do.
