Your Bible is Your Weapon
After being baptized by John in the Jordan River, Jesus was lead to the wilderness by the spirit. (Luke 4:4) It must have been something about the wilderness because John and Jesus went when lead with no hesitation! Jesus was there 40 days and 40 nights, and he ate nothing. We can't even handle a 4 day fast sometimes, so imagine being in the wilderness 40 days with no physical food but only spiritual food. Let this be your motivation when you start your next fast. What would Jesus do?-- Finish that fast! What would Jesus do?-- Turn down that plate! LOL

It is in the wilderness where Jesus was tempted on 3 separate occasions by the devil and each time he defeated the devil. You see how God allowed Jesus to be tempted? The spirit led him into the wilderness to be tempted, it was all a test. We will also be tested and sent into spaces that are very uncomfortable, but know that it is for a greater purpose. Jesus passed the test each time because scripture was his weapon. Each time Jesus was tempted by the devil he responded with SCRIPTURE. This just shows us how POWERFUL scripture is, and proof that it works. (Luke 4:6, 4:8, 4:12) Notice how Jesus didn't even give the devil too much attention, he literally quoted scripture and continued on with his day. Sometimes we give the devil too much leeway. The next time you are tempted hit the devil with a scripture and keep it pushing, we can't keep dancing with the devil. He will use anything and say anything to get you to turn from God! Just like God is always moving, so is the devil. Stay on guard and be prepared for all his evil attacks. (Luke 4:13)

Jesus returned to Galilee and then to Nazareth (where he grew up) to teach in the synagogues. Everyone was amazed at him up until he said something to ruffle their feathers. He made a remark in Luke 4:23-27 basically saying God sometimes chose to reach the Gentiles rather than the Jews, and that most of his hearers were as unbelieving as the citizens of the northern kingdom of israel in the days of Elijah and Elisha. Mind you, the days of Elijah and Elisha were known for it's great wickedness. The people became furious and drove him out of town with intentions to throw him off a hill! (Luke 4:28) They rejected Jesus for his bold and honest words. Remember Nazareth is where Jesus grew up, so some of those people were his neighbors , he lived among these people for over 20 yrs and they still rejected him but Jesus knew this would happen. (Luke 4:24) Don't be surprised when your own people reject you, and don't allow rejection to hinder you.

But Jesus didn't let that discourage him! He went on to Capernaum, Simon's house, and all the synagogues of Judea teaching with authority, driving our demons, and healing the sick. (Luke 4:36) (Luke 4:39-4) (Luke 4:44) Imagine if Jesus would have quit the first time he was rejected. None of those people would have been delivered, or healed. This is why we can't quit!!! There are so many broken people out there, and it is your discipleship that is going to set them free. It is your Kingdom Work that is going to bring them back to the Father. We all have so many people attached to our mission that we cannot afford to quit, lost souls are depending on us. I don't know about you but I don't want to let my brothers or my sisters down--- I definitely don't want to let God down.

Let me know how you plan on doing your part in continuing to do God's work! I'll go first.

I plan on holding myself accountable for the calling that God has on my life to do the work of the Kingdom. How? No more being sluggish when it comes to my Mission. #getitdone
